Abstract

Biochemical, chemical, and genetic data indicate that strains labeled (Nowlan and Deibel), (Vaughn, Riggsby and Mundt), (Sherman and Wing), subsp. (Pette), and (Bridge and Sneath) are closely related to members of the genus Schleifer and Kilpper-Bälz. We propose that these taxa be classified as members of the genus as nom. rev., comb. nov., nom. rev., comb. nov., nom. rev., comb. nov., sp. nov., and comb. nov., respectively.
