The description of the genus Acetivibrio is emended as originally described by I. M. Robinson and A. E. Ritchie (Int. J. Syst. Bacteriol. 31:333-338, 1981) to include anaerobic, gram-negative, straight to slightly curved rods that produce mainly acetic acid, ethanol, H2 and CO2 and that are motile by means of a single flagellum or multiple flagella. It is proposed that A. cellulosolvens BASTbe correctly classified as A. cellulolyticus. %U https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/ijsem/10.1099/00207713-36-2-314
