Abstract

By sequencing a total of 2089 bp of the 16S rRNA and genes it was demonstrated that (the causative organism of donovanosis) shows a high level of identity with species pathogenic to humans (). It is proposed that should be reclassified as comb. nov. An emended description of the genus is given.
