Growth occurred at 10–45 °C, pH 4.5–12.5 and NaCl concentrations up to 2 % (w/v). The major fatty acids were summed feature 3 (C16 : 1ω7c and/or iso-C15 : 0 2-OH) and C16 : 0. The predominant respiratory quinone was Q-8. The major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylglycerol. The DNA G+C content of strain PTW21T was 64.6 mol%. The results of DNA–DNA hybridization revealed that strain PTW21T showed 37.4 % relatedness with Massilia niastensis 5516 S-1T and 40.0 % with M. tieshanensis TS3T. Based on phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic differences, strain PTW21T (=CICC 24113T=BCRC 81061T) is proposed as the type strain of novel species of the genus Massilia with the names Massilia neuiana sp. nov.", }
