  • The Judicial Commission of the International Committee on Systematics of Prokaryotes decided that the date of valid publication of the genus name Thermodesulfobacterium and of the species names Thermodesulfobacterium commune and Thermodesulfobacterium thermophilum is 1995. Thermodesulfobacterium mobile Rozanova and Pivovarova 1988 is an illegitimate, later synonym of Thermodesulfobacterium thermophilum.
