The results of a 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis demonstrated that this bacterium represents a previously unknown line of descent in the family Pasteurellaceae. On the basis of the results of our phylogenetic analysis and phenotypic criteria, we propose that this organism should be classified as a new species, Actinobacillus delphinicola sp. nov. The type strain of A. delphinicola sp. nov. is strain NCTC 12870., language=, type=
