Transfer of Thermoactinomyces viridis Schuurmans et al. 1956 to the genus Thermomonospora as Thermomonospora viridis (Schuurmans, Olson and San Clemente) comb. nov Free

Abstract

SUMMARY

Original descriptions and comparative studies indicate that and produce single spores on aerial mycelium only and should be classified as a species of . Schuurmans ., 1956, becomes (Schuurmans .) comb. nov. Our isolate P101 is proposed as a neotype of and is deposited at NRRL (B-3044). The species name (Lehmann and Schütze) Waksman should be recognized as a “” because of the inadequate description, particularly of its cultural and physiological characteristics and the lack of a culture of the type strain.
